The Alabama Department of Revenue recently announced that the 2014 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday in Alabama will be held on August 1 through August 3.
This is Alabama's ninth such sales tax holiday on school supplies.
While municipal and county taxing jurisdictions have the option to participate in the sales tax holiday each year, they are not required to notify the Alabama Department of Revenue of their participation until July 1, 2014, at the latest. So, stay tuned for a list of participating local jurisdictions later this year.
