Taxpayer Wins Change of Domicile Case

Recently, Alabama's Chief Administrative Law Judge, Bill Thompson, ruled in favor of a taxpayer who claimed she did not owe Alabama income tax because her domicile changed from Alabama to Texas in the years in question.  Click here for the decision. 

Interestingly, while there were several strong indicators that the taxpayer had not abandoned her domicile in Alabama, she was able to present evidence or otherwise explain away the bad facts in order to convince Judge Thompson of her change of domicile.
